Join a Committee

On January 22, 2011, CRN members met to discuss organization goals. It was decided that we would focus on the following activities in alignment with our mission as we solified our committment to supporting Mother-Friendly care.

Many hands make light work! Consider joining forces with us.

Educate, promote and support local birth options

Committee: Mother-Friendly Baby-Friendly Care

>> This committee can plan events such as film screenings/meet-n-greets and ensure CRN has a presence at community outreach events to help educate families and peers about Mother-Friendly Baby-Friendly care.

Committee: Transparency in Maternity Care

>> This committee can come up with ways to recognize Mother-Friendly Baby-Friendly providers and work on increasing transparency in local maternity care.

Foster a community of birth professionals that embrace Mother-Friendly Baby-Friendly Care

Committee: Inservices and Meetings

>> This committee can schedule speakers/topics for monthly CRN meetings as well as schedule doula meetings.

Committee: Scholarship and Awards

>> This committee can work on providing scholarships to CRN members and recognizing outstanding members of our community with the CRN Mommies Matter Award.

Serve as resource center

Committee: Birth Center – taking the next step

>> This committee can help navigate steps towards making a birth center in Fresno a reality. We have information from the AABC workshop, a draft proposal for a planning grant, and the Push for Birth fundraising campaign. Questions to address include: How should we structure the business? What services/resources will the birth center provide? What is CRN’s role? Where can we find funding? Where do we go from here?

Something not here that you care about?

Let us know what else needs attention, and join us to make it happen!
