Recommended Reading This list is not meant to be an extensive reading list. It is a list of our favorites to get you started. We encourage you to read and educate yourself as much as possible. We believe the best way to prepare for a natural pregnancy and birth is through education and ownership of the responsibility of yourself, and your baby. If you read no other books I consider the first three to be a must read.

It is full of up to date information on pregnancy interventions and procedures. Additonally it holds story after story on women who gave birth naturally. Everything you need to learn about your options in childbirth and to develope your own personal birth plan. The reason being is that you are in more danger of an unnecessary cesarean than ever before. This is an excellent exploration of creating the birth of your choice. Even if you are not contemplating a home birth this is an excellent resource on how to take responsibility for your pregnancy and birth. This book covers different options for your place of birth, including a water birth. Written by the editor of Mothering magazine. For any dad wanting to get involved with his partners pregnancy. Written by Dr. Bradley of the Bradley Method of Natural childbirth, focuses on getting dads involved with the birth of their child.
